DEVELOPMENT OF PROBLEM SOLVING BEHAVIOR DURING INFANCY

Abstract: This study examined the exploring behaviors, attention and their relationships with the effectiveness of problem solving among eighty 8~11 month old infants with standardized procedures in laboratory The results indicated that the effectiveness in infants′problem solving behaviors and strategies using increased with age 8~month old infants hardly explored and solved the problem successfully, while many of 11 month old infants could solve the problem with correct strategies In addition, infants kept their attention on task longer and decreased their inattention with their age increased, which was significantly associated with infants' performance
